Food Pantry Lifts Income Guidelines

The Mount Horeb Area Food Pantry, Inc will temporarily rescind income guidelines during the COVID-19 outbreak.  Our services will be open to help anyone, including seniors, individuals and families, within the Mount Horeb Area School District that may be in temporary need of food.  They are hoping that the stigma of needing to go to a food pantry for help will not prevent people in our community from seeking this help.  Instead, please see this as a good deed that you can pay forward when times get better.

For those that are able, they may be looking for extra volunteer help as we go forward, as we may offer home delivery if they find a need for it.  They may also find that we need to open for longer hours or more days.  If either of these situations occurs, they will need more volunteers if interested please contact the Pantry.

Also, since we will be serving more clients, our need for donations will be higher.  The Mount Horeb Area Food Pantry is a 501c3 entity that is ran solely by volunteers and runs on financial and food donations from caring people like you.  Monetary donations can be dropped off in person during our open hours, mailed to PO Box 204; Mount Horeb, WI 53572 or online at go fund me https://charity.gofundme.com/covid-19 .  Other donations can also be dropped off in person.  If the open hours do not work for dropping off, please call the food pantry at 608-437-7887, and we can work out another time.  

Are you wondering what type of donations we are in need of?  Here is a list of some items we are currently in need of: paper towels, Kleenex, napkins, toilet paper, fruit juice, canned fruit (peaches, pears, fruit cocktail, applesauce, etc.), pancake mix, syrup, cereal, jam/jelly, peanut butter, laundry detergent, dish soap, pudding mixes, cake/brownie mixes, pasta sauce, canned potatoes, peas, and carrots.  We can always use hamburger/fresh meat, and during this period of time, we would hand out hand sanitizer if we had it.

The Mount Horeb Area Food Pantry is located at 102 E. Lincoln Street.  Normal hours that we are open are Saturdays 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and Mondays 5:00 – 7:00 PM.  Depending on demand additional hours may be added  please contact us at 608-437-7887 with any questions or updated information.
