Newspaper Office Moves Online

At the start of this year, the Mount Horeb Mail launched a new website, MountHorebMail.com. With the success of that site, which now serves as a centralized hub where readers and advertisers can contact our staff directly, purchase print or digital subscriptions, access archives and much more, we are closing our brick and mortar office located at 114 East Main Street.

“Good community journalism takes place in the community, not in an office,” said editor Matt Geiger. “Covering important stories and people in Mount Horeb, Blue Mounds, Perry, Springdale and Primrose requires being out in the community, not sitting behind a desk and waiting for them to come to you. The physical office has been primarily symbolic for several years now, and we really do consider the entire greater Mount Horeb area to be our workspace. In many ways this is a formality as we continue to evolve as a community-based publication and media outlet.”

If you have any questions, want to submit a letter to the editor or news tip, want to subscribe to the newspaper or purchase an ad, please feel free to visit MountHorebMail.com, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.  To reach us via phone, call the same number you’ve always called (608-437-5553), and it will ring at our press office in Black Earth.  To contact ad sales manager Marc Mickelson directly, call 608-225-9515. To contact news editor Matt Geiger directly, send an email to mgeiger@newspubinc.com. Both can also be reached through the website.

Our downtown office was expected to close its doors March 27, but the closure was accelerated in an attempt to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19. Our newspaper will continue to print in Black Earth, and we hope this next step in our evolution helps us continue to serve the people who makes this community special.
