Neighbors Helping Neighbors During Pandemic
Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN) will provide a weekly drive-through mobile food pantry each Friday, for residents of the Mt. Horeb, Blue Mounds and Barneveld area. The mobile pantry is available to those who are experiencing food insecurity or who are in need of a helping hand due to financial hardships created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pantry is located in the lower level parking lot of the United Methodist Church, at 9542 CO Hwy S, Mt. Horeb, from 3 to 6 p.m.
No documentation will be required to obtain a prepackaged “Care Box” filled with non-perishable staples, provided by Second Harvest Food Bank, and a voucher for perishable items to help complete the meals. The care boxes are available to individuals, families and seniors.
To best meet the needs of the community at this time, NHN asks that you reserve your share in advance. Connect with NHN via email nbrhelpingnbr19@gmail.com), phone (608-437-6114). Your information will remain confidential and will not be shared with any other entities.
If you are not able to drive to Mobile Pantry location, they have volunteers that are happy to deliver meals.
To donate to this effort, you can contribute online at mthorebneighbors.org or mail a check to Neighbors Helping Neighbors, P.O. Box 196, Mt. Horeb, WI 53572. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of Miller & Sons gift cards to assist families in purchasing of non-perishable items to make their meals complete.
