Beer and wine (and more) at Barleyvine

The process of building and opening a new business can be difficult, even in the best of times. Throw a pandemic into the mix and it becomes borderline impossible.

And yet, piece by piece, Barleyvine has somehow managed to rise up during this difficult time. Located in the parking lot by Miller & Sons Supermarket, this new option plans to officially open its doors by Labor Day.

“Barleyvine is a family-owned business that will feature a pour your own wine and beer wall with 24 options on tap, along with a variety of quick casual food options,” explains owner Dominique Dailing. “We plan on rotating out the beer and wine options on a seasonal basis, along with expanding the menu throughout the year.”

Dailing says she “decided to open Barleyvine after realizing the need in community for additional food, drink, and social options.”

Standing in the nearly-completed interior of the building, she pours a glass of wine and talks about the finishing touches being put on the building just before customers get their first taste of this new offering. Barleyvine will launch with a limited menu featuring small bites, salads, and sandwiches.

“[It] is perfect for the family during the day for a quick bite,” she says. “At night, it is the perfect spot to meet friends or loved ones and grab a glass of wine, beer, and good food.”

Work on the building began last year, and while COVID-19 did not stop the process, it did prompt some changes and delays.

“Unfortunately, it has delayed our opening, but we are excited to finally be opening soon,” she says. “Luckily, the unique experience of a self-serve beer and wine wall allows for natural social distancing. We did have to work with the architect to remove a community table we originally planned for and reduced seating to allow for increased distanced between tables. Additionally, we are working with Cintas and Ecolab to provide industrial grade cleaning, along with additional sanitized stations. We are also following regulatory guidelines to ensure everyone stays safe.

Dailing concludes: “We’re excited to serve our friends and family in the community.”
